(Al-Jumua) 62 : 6

You say: “Oh, you who became Jews! If you are claiming that you are the favorites of Allah apart from other mankind, then you should long for death if you are so truthful.”

If the Jews at Medina during the period of Messenger Muhammad were claiming that we are the favorites of Allah and Paradise is for us alone, today the Arabic Qur’an Reading Fujjar are having the same claim among mankind. Actually, these Fujjar, especially the hypocritical leaders among them, are fearing death more than any other people. That is because they do not utilize Adhikr as the ‘Mouelath’—Good Advice. So, through this verse, it is told to them that if you are approving verse 3: 185, which says that “this worldly life is nothing except the enjoyment of illusions,” you have to wish for death. See explanation 2: 94-96; and 48: 24-25.
