(Al-Kausar) 108 : 3
إِنَّ شَانِئَكَ هُوَ الْأَبْتَرُ

Indeed, your rival, he is the one whose root is cut off.

Aboojahil, who was waiting to see any distress affecting the Messenger Muhammad, when the two sons—Qasim and Abdulla—died, raised many ridiculing words about Muhammad, such as, “Muhammad has been cut off at the root; there is no one to take his legacy from his family.” In reply to this, Allah is saying that the one who wishes to see your perishing is the rootless one. It is the common character of Fujjar of all periods to wish for the perishing of believers who propagate Adhikr, and to ridicule them by saying, “he is an odd liar,” as told in verse 54: 25. The Fujjar who are welcoming the 30th pseudo-prophet Antichrist will be killed after the second coming of Jesus by the hands of other people belonging to the Messenger’s community as explained in verse 98: 6. Then only will these Fujjar admit the fact that “not Arabic Qur’an, but Adhikr—Dikree—was the Lord’s Book,” as explained in verse 38: 8. See explanation 63: 1–4; and 104: 1–2.
