ADHIKR

This Surath got its name “Ash-Sharh (the Expansion)” from the first verse which says, “Didn’t We expand your breast for you?” This Surath, containing eight verses, was revealed in the early period of the Messenger’s Meccan life.

While receiving prophethood and beginning the public propagation of the Lord’s Message among the people, the Messenger and the believers had to face various forged allegations and isolation from their own people. By asking, “Didn’t We remove hardships from your life?”, it is informed that there is ease with every difficulty. Therefore, it commands to move forward in the mission of propagating the Lord’s Message to the entire mankind, placing hope in the Lord alone.
