(93) Ad-Duha

With the name of Allah, the Impartial, the Compassionate.

(93) Ad-Duha

This Surath got its name “Ad-Duha  (the Daylight)” from the first verse which says, “By the Daylight.” This Surath, containing eleven verses, was revealed in the early Meccan period of the Messenger. This Surath was revealed when the Messenger became depressed for not receiving Divine Messages for a long period after the first Revelation in the Cave of Hira. By referring to the early condition of the Messenger before receiving prophethood, the Surath consoles him that by giving Adhikr, which is the Prosperity and Guidance, his Lord has neither forsaken him nor abandoned him. It also commands that he should not dismiss the orphans, nor drive away those who seek help.
