(Al-Balad) 90 : 16
أَوْ مِسْكِينًا ذَا مَتْرَبَةٍ
Or the indigent covered with mud.
The way to pass through the steep path is to give food to the orphans from relatives and neighbors, and to the needy and indigents covered with mud. Even if the laborers are involved in agricultural work for themselves or for others, feeding them is as virtuous as freeing the slaves. That is because they are working in agriculture for the existence of mankind as well as for all creatures of the Lord. It should be read together with what is taught by the Lord through His Messenger, that “in the last period it should be turned to agriculture.” See explanation 2: 177; 76: 8-10.
