(86) Athwariq

This Surath got the name Athwariq (What is Revealed) from the first verse, which says, “By the sky and what is revealed.” It was revealed in the early period of the Messenger’s Meccan life. It teaches that mankind is created from the emitted water of male and female, and that a guard is assigned to keep his soul. It warns that on the Day of Judgement—when the heaven and the earth will be brought to their earlier condition—all the secrets of mankind will be revealed to him. This Surath, containing 17 verses, ends by commanding the believers to allow the disbelievers to live here for a short period in their ridiculing and plotting against Adhikr.
