(82) Al-Infithwar
With the name of Allah, the Impartial, the Compassionate.
(82) Al-Infithwar
This Surath is called “Al-Infithwar” (“Splitting Asunder”) from its opening verse: “when the sky splits asunder.” Revealed early in the Prophet’s Meccan period, it lists cosmic upheavals that herald the Day of Judgement and underscores personal accountability: on that Day, no one can benefit another—each soul will face what it sent ahead and what it left behind. Across its 19 verses, the Surath warns that only by living with Adhikr—here and now—can one be counted among the virtuous; otherwise, the end is the Fire, the abode of the disbelievers.
