(81) At-Thakhveer
This Surath got the name “At-Thakhveer—Folded Up” from the first verse, which says: “When the sun is folded up.” It was revealed in the early period of the Messenger’s Meccan life. This is one of three Suras the Lord taught through His Messenger to recite for seeing the Doomsday directly; the other two are Infitar (82) and Inshiqaq (84). Along with mentioning the changes that will happen on the Day of Judgement to the sun, stars, and seas, it also reminds us that for everyone, whatever he or she has earned in this world will be presented there. It further reminds that Adhikr is the Straightpath to the Lord of all worlds, and that It was revealed to the noble Messenger Muhammad among mankind through the noble Angel Jibreel. This Surah, containing 29 verses, ends by saying that Adhikr—the Reminder for the entire world—is not the word of Satan, and you will not intend to be on the Straightpath except as Allah intends.
