(74) Mudasir
This verse got the name Al Mudasir-the one who is enveloped-from the first verse which says “Oh the one who is enveloped in the clothes”. This Surah was revealed in the early period of Messenger’s Maccan life. The verses 1-7 of this Surah were revealed after the revelation of 96: 1-5, and the verses 8-56 were revealed after Messenger started propagation publicly. This Surah revealed commanding for the public propagation of Lord’s Message warns that those who lead a life showing reluctance to Adhikr, they will be roasted in the Hell without getting any benefit with their wealth or children. This Surah reminds that aim of mentioning the number of Angels who are the guards of Hell is to make confusion in the heart of the disbelievers and to increase belief of the believers. This Surah also informs the mankind that each and every soul is a pledge for what she has earned. It is told in this Surah that Fujjar flee away from hearing Adhikr-the Ticket-just like the wild donkeys flee away hearing the lion’s roar. This Surah containing 56 verses ends reminding that in order to get heedfulness and forgiveness, one should utilize Adhikr as the Reminder.
