(67) Al-Mulk

This Surah got the name ‘Al Mulk-The Kingship’ from the first verse which says that with whose hand the kingship rests. This was revealed during the early period of Messenger’s Maccan life. Messenger used to recite this Surah in all nights. Messenger Jesus, being ahead of prolonged two rak’ath swalath for making alive the dead with the permission of Lord, in first rak’ath he used to recite this Surah. The Lord of the universe has taught through His Messenger that in whose heart is there Surah Mulk, the grave won’t squeeze him, and that this Surah will argue in favour of him. It is told in this Surah that the Lord who has created the universe without any defect and who has the kingship of them has also made the death and life in order to test that who among you are living here seeing Him. This Surah warns that the disbelievers who do not try to understand the aim of life after receiving Adhikr when will be thrown in to the Hellfire will reply to the question of the guard of hell-Angels-as “Oh, if we had heard or had utilized our intelligence, we wouldn’t have become the inmates of the blazing fire”. Allah who knows the status of the chest is the Three Time Knower acquainted with His creatures. It is commanded to declare Messenger that I and whoever with me have believed in the Impartial Allah and have entrusted upon Him, and to ask the disbelievers that whether Allah may destroy us or may shower His Mercy upon us, who is there to save the disbelievers from the painful punishment. This Surah containing 30 verses ends by commanding the believers to ask the disbelievers that if your drinking water is sunk down deep, who is there to brink it back for you.
