(50) Qaaf

This Surath got the name ‘Qaaf’ (the Reading kept in the preserved Disk) from the first alphabet ‘Qaaf’ mentioned in the first verse. This Surath contains the verses revealed in the earlier period of the Messenger’s Meccan life. The Messenger used to recite this Surath in his morning prayer and in his Eid prayer. Moreover, he also used to quote the verses of this Surath in his Friday Speech.

This Surath teaches that in the creation of heavens and earth without any flaw, and in sending down water from the sky and thereby germinating all types of plants, vegetables, and fruits as suitable pairs being food, there is Reminding and Insight for those who turn to the Lord repeatedly. This Surath reminds mankind to learn moral lessons by utilizing the intelligence from the demolition of previous people who were leading a life, forgetting the aim of life. The Surath also reminds that Lord Allah, who has created mankind, knows the meaning and the status of the breathing of His creatures, and He has deputed Angels to record everyone’s words. Mankind, who is taught the Trust Adhikr, if he doesn’t transform his Jinn comrade into a believer with Adhikr, he should bear the punishment of making his Jinn comrade also go to Hell. The heedful who follows Adhikr is given the glad tidings that he will get Paradise, which he has earned here in this world. On hearing the blast from the ‘Trumpet swoor’ for the second time, everyone will be transported to the place of Judgment from their graveyard. This Surath, containing 45 verses, ends saying: ‘You remind with this Reading those who fear the Promises of the Day’.
