And those who believed say, “Why is a Surah not sent down?” But when a decisive Surah is sent down, and fighting is mentioned in it, you see those who have disease in their hearts looking at you with the look of one fainting from death. That is most suitable for them.
Battles and trials occur by the will of Allah to distinguish the Hypocrites from the believers. Believers live here with the aim of life understood from Adhikr and entrust all their affairs to Allah, whereas Hypocrites live by forgetting Allah and the aim of life, preferring bodily and worldly life. Thus, when called to battle, they consider it as being called to death and show terror. Such are those who lose both this worldly life and the Hereafter.
