(Muhammad) 47 : 16
وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَسْتَمِعُ إِلَيْكَ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا خَرَجُوا مِنْ عِنْدِكَ قَالُوا لِلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ مَاذَا قَالَ آنِفًا ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ طَبَعَ اللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَاتَّبَعُوا أَهْوَاءَهُمْ
And among them are those who listen to you; then, when they leave you, they say to those who were given Knowledge, “What did he say just now?” Such are those upon whose hearts Allah has sealed, and they follow their whims.
This verse depicts the attitude of hypocrites toward the Lord’s Message and toward the Messenger. The same behavior is seen in hypocrites of all periods who are satisfied with worldly life, who are not ready to hear or read Adhikr while praying with the soul, “Oh my Lord! Increase me in Knowledge,” and who attend gatherings where Adhikr is explained only for others’ interest. See explanation 5: 60-62; 6: 25-26; and 8: 20-21.
