With the name of Allah, the Impartial, the Compassionate.
(47) Muhammad
This Surah got the name “Muhammad” from the second verse of this Surah, which says “those who believed in what is revealed upon Muhammad while It is the Truth from their Lord”. This Surah was revealed at Medina after the migration of the Messenger to there. Since the disbelievers are following falsehood by hiding the Truth, all their deeds have become futile. The believers are following the Truth revealed from their Lord, and by helping Allah through propagating It, Allah will help them back and will admit them into the Paradise which Allah has made known to them. In the Paradise promised to them, there are rivers of clear water, milk, wine, and purified honey, whereas the disbelievers will be given boiling water to drink, which will cut their guts.
This Surah teaches that the Messenger and believers can seek forgiveness only for themselves as well as for the believing men and believing women. The Hypocrites who do not become proud and rejoice with Adhikr after receiving It are deaf and blind, and Allah has cursed such human Satans. Since they disagree with the Messenger by hiding Adhikr and obstructing mankind from It, all their deeds have become futile. This Surah, containing thirty-eight verses, ends by warning that the Hypocrites who are niggardly to spend in the way of Allah are niggardly only against themselves, and when all become transgressors by not spending the wealth Allah has provided them in His way, Allah will substitute other people in their place.
