(Az-Zukhuruf) 43 : 5
أَفَنَضْرِبُ عَنْكُمُ الذِّكْرَ صَفْحًا أَنْ كُنْتُمْ قَوْمًا مُسْرِفِينَ

Then shall We keep away Adhikr from you because you are a transgressing people?

Through this verse, it is asked whether the Meccan pagans—the addressees of the Book when It was revealed—if they reject It, think It will be given to other people without being given to them. But today, if the people of the Messenger Muhammad, who have inherited the Lord’s Book as told in verse 35: 32, hide Adhikr, It will be entrusted to other people of the Messenger’s community who will not hide It, as explained in verses 6: 89-90. See explanation 5: 54; 6: 25-26; 41: 5; and 42: 17-18.
