(Az-Zukhuruf) 43 : 45

And ask those whom We sent from among Our Messengers before you: “Have We made deities to be served besides the Impartial?”

On the night of “Isra’ and Mi‘raj,” after meeting with Allah at Paradise as explained in verse 17: 1, the Messenger Muhammad was descended to Baithul Mukhaddis, and there he performed Swalath, leading all Messengers. After Swalath, he sat facing the Messengers and asked them as commanded through the verse: “Have We made deities to be served besides the Impartial?” As explained in verses 21: 24-25, the Book revealed to all 313 Messengers is Adhikr—the Truth and Proof—and It is revealed to teach mankind that there is no Deity to be served besides Allah. See explanation 3: 81, 187.
