It is ordained to you from the religion what was enjoined upon Noah, and what We have inspired into you, and what We enjoined upon Ibrahim, Moses, and Jesus: You have to establish the religion, and you should not differentiate in it. What you are calling the Mushriks to is intolerable upon them. Allah chooses into Him whom He wishes; and whoever turns to Him, Allah guides him.
The Messengers mentioned in this verse—Noah, Ibrahim, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad—are known as Ulul Azm, which means “those endowed with firm hearts.” This verse reminds and commands the believers that the Deen—the way of life—of all Messengers was the same, and that was the way of life which Adhikr—the Truth and Guidance—submits; you should retain that way of life and you should not make any differentiation in it. But the Fujjar who have become Mushriks by dividing into different organizations under the label of Islam, as explained in verses 23:51-53 and 30:31-32, and by associating others in the dominion of Allah, are included in the party of Satan as explained in verse 58:19. They are rejecting not only the command of this verse but the command of the Lord’s Book as a whole. “Allah chooses into Him whom He wishes” means Allah chooses Messengers from mankind to invite mankind to Him. “Whoever turns to Him, Allah guides him” means whoever turns to Allah, who is the Owner of the Soul that Adhikr submits, He guides such a believer into Him. Lord Allah has taught through His Messenger in his farewell pilgrimage that whoever holds fast to the Splendid Book Adhikr with his molar teeth, such are only guided and are in the Straightpath. See explanation 3:19, 101-103; 13:27 and 42:2-3.
