(35) Fathwir

This Surah is named Fathwir, meaning The Originator, from the first verse where it says, "Praise is to the Lord, the Originator of the heavens and earth." It was revealed in the early middle period of the Messenger’s time in Mecca. This Surah teaches that the Lord, who originated the heavens and earth from nothingness, created Angels with two, three, and four wings or more as He wills. He, who has deputed mankind on earth, sent His Message, Adhikr, to them through the Angels. It teaches that no bearer of a burden will bear the burden of others. Therefore, whoever purifies himself with Adhikr does so for his benefit. In fruits and cereals growing on the earth, in mountains, in livestock, and in mankind itself, there are different colors. Those who learn from these creations of the Lord are the ones possessing the Knowledge, Adhikr, and they alone fear Lord Allah. This Surah brings glad tidings to those who use all their favors to propagate Adhikr—the Balance and Trust that keeps the universe in equilibrium—to all mankind. Among those who have inherited the Lord’s Book, there are wrongdoers, the moderate, and the forerunners to Paradise. The wrongdoing disbelievers will face the fire in Hell, where they will wish to die but won’t. When they appeal to return to earth to lead a life testifying to Adhikr, they will be told: "Were you not given enough time to correct your life, and were you not warned that you would say so?" Whoever plots against the Truth will have the consequences turned back on him. This Surah, containing 45 verses, ends with a warning that if the Three-Time Knower, Lord Allah, seized mankind for their deeds, no creature would remain on Earth, but everything has a fixed time, and Lord Allah is ever watching His servants.
