(34) Saba'a

This Surath revealed in the midterm of Messenger’s Maccan period got the name Saba’a from verse 15 which says the people of Saba’a have a sign in their dwelling place itself. This Surath begins by praising the Three Time Knower Lord and It emphasizes the necessity of the Day of Judgement. The tragic scenes of arguing, quarreling, and blaming among the hypocritical leaders and their blind followers who hide and reject Adhikr on the Day of Judgement are explained in this Surath. By explaining about the Saba’a people who were living in best livelihood, but when they became spendthrifts and defiant, their livelihood was removed from them and they were scattered and disintegrated into so many groups; Lord Allah warns the disbelievers of every period that they will also have such consequence. By reminding us about Prophet Dawood and Prophet Suleiman who were given dignity and pride, it teaches about the magnificent character that the believer should have till the Last Doomsday. When the verses of the Lord’s Book are explained, the disbelievers will accuse them of manipulation and sorcery, but on the Day of Judgement Angels will say about them that they were serving Satan belonging to Jinn. Muhammed who is the Last Messenger and Prophet is deputed to entire mankind as the Herald of Glad Tidings and a warner. This Surath containing 54 verses ends with a warning that the disbelievers who are doubting regarding Adhikr will be ready to believe at the time of their death, but a curtain will be formed between them and their ambitions that their ambition will become in vain.
