With the name of Allah, the Impartial, the Compassionate.
(33) Ahsaab
This Surath got the name Ahsaab (the Confederates) from verse 20 which says that the hypocrites and the disbelievers in Madeena guessed that the Confederates hadn’t returned. This Surath containing 73 verses was revealed to Messenger Muhammad during the fifth year of his Madeena life. By the command “Oh Prophet! You don’t obey the disbelievers and hypocrites, and you follow what is sent down from your Lord, and you entrust upon Him”, the Messenger Muhammad and believers till the Last Day are commanded not to obey the hypocrites and their followers, and are also commanded to follow Adhikr which is sent down from the Lord. By explaining the event about retreating the confederates of disbelievers disappointedly who came to Madina to eliminate Messenger Muhammad and his group, it is taught that the Lord of the universe will help the believers who are helping the Impartial Lord by propagating Adhikr-the Balance and Trust to keep the universe in its equilibrium, even though hypocrites and their followers are hating it. This Surath explains about the Jewish tribe Banu Quraila at Madina who violated the treaty made with Messenger, and who was involved in spying with the Confederates. Thus Messenger and believers blockaded their residence and put an end to them residing in Madina. Through this event, it is taught that there should be no adjustment for those who are violating the treaty. This Surath teaches that belief and denial won’t be assembled in a heart at a time, and the adopted sons should not be considered as own sons, and so they should have no right for inheritance in the wealth of their foster parents. It is also not prohibited to marry the wife of an adopted son after they are separated naturally. The character of believing men and women, as well the code of contact among them is also explained throughout this Surath. This Surath containing 73 verses ends by teaching that Adhikr-the Balance and Trust to keep the universe in its equilibrium- is revealed to punish the hypocritical men and women, and the men and women who are associating others in the dominion of Allah, and also to accept repentance of believing men and women.
