(31) Lukman

With the name of Allah, the Impartial, the Compassionate.

(31) Lukman

This Surath got the name Lukman from verse 12 which says: "We have given the Wisdom to Lukman". This Surath is revealed during the Maccan period of Messenger Muhammad just after the revelation of Surath 29. Adhikr (Wise Book) is the Guidance and Mercy only for those who are living here by seeing the Hereafter from It. It is warned about the heinous punishment for those who treat and make Adhikr ridiculous while they are reminded of It in their heart’s language. It teaches that associating others in the dominion of Lord Allah is the great unjust, and the believer can have a relation with the creatures of the Lord only under the light of Adhikr even if it is their parents or relatives. Those who are talking about Lord Allah without having the Knowledge of Adhikr are following Satan who is inviting them to the blaze. The one who holds Adhikr (Unbreakable Rope) has grasped the strongest rope which will never break. The Interpretation of Adhikr will not be exhausted if it is written using the whole trees on earth as pens and the seas as ink, and even if it is supplemented by seven other seas. In the sailing of ships through the sea, there are signs for every patient and grateful ones. It teaches that no one will repudiate the verses of Adhikr except the treacherous and ungrateful. By calling mankind, the Lord commands everyone to heed Him and fear a Day in which no father will benefit his son, and no son will benefit his father, and also reminds you that the Promise of the Lord is True, so the worldly life shouldn’t deceit you, and let no deceiver Satan deceive you. The Surath containing 34 verses ends by declaring that the Knowledge about the Last Hour rests with the Lord and He sends down the rain and He knows what is in the wombs, and also no one knows what he will earn tomorrow and on which land he will die.
