(29) Ankabooth

With the name of Allah, the Impartial, the Compassionate.

(29) Ankabooth

This Surath containing 69 verses got the name Ankabooth (the Spider) from verse 41. This Surath is revealed in connection with the first migration of believers to Ethiopia. Mankind created in Paradise is deputed to earth to test who among them will testify and falsify Adhikr. It teaches that if anyone compels the believer to associate others in the Dominion of Lord, he shouldn’t obey him even if he is the parent or close relatives. Surath warns that in the Hereafter the Arabic Quran reading hypocrites who hide Adhikr will have to bear the burden of sins done here by their blind followers.

Noah, Ibrahim, Looth, Shuhaib, and all Prophets are sent to mankind with Adhikr to acknowledge them that they should serve the Lord of the universe alone, keep Him in their hearts, and everyone’s return is unto Him. When their people falsified and rejected Adhikr and become transgressors and wrongdoers, no matter how powerful they were, they were destroyed by saving the Prophet and believers with him.

If the Arabic Quran reading Fujjar who reject Adhikr are asked about Who created heavens and earth, Who subjected the sun and the moon, Who sends down water from the sky and gives life to the dead, etc, they will utter: “Allah”. But they are only keeping an evil concept about the Impartial Lord. The Surath ends by saying: “Who is more wrong than the hypocrites who forge lies about Lord Allah or reject the Truth when It has come to them, Is there not abode in Hell for the disbelievers? And the believer who does Jihad in the cause of Lord, Lord will surely guide them into the Straightpath; and indeed, Lord Allah is with those who live under the Best Book Adhikr”.
