This Surath got the name “the Light” from verse 35 which says: “Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth”. Surath discusses the slander that spread about Ayisha (the wife of Messenger) and Safwan on Hijra 5th in connection with the Battle of Banu-Mustalik. The laws and regulations regarding fornication and slander are explained. When a believer is happened to hear slander about another, he should not involve in spreading it; instead, he should think of himself and should try to approach Lord with soul. The good man will get a good woman and the bad man will get a bad woman and vice versa. Then do’s and don’ts that one should follow to maintain the peace and tranquil life in society is explained in this Surath. Today, the believer should give more importance to Adhikr like believing followers are commanded to give importance to Lord’s Messenger at that period.
