You say: "Everyone is waiting, then you also wait; soon you will know who are the companions of the Straightpath and who are the guided".
‘Soon’ mentioned here is the death time in the case of an individual. The addressees of this verse are the people of the last Messenger. For disbelievers’ questions “When this Triumph will be happening if you are so truthful’ as told in verse 32: 28, the Messenger and believers are commanded to reply through verse 32: 29 as ‘On the day of Triumph, the acceptance of the belief of those who disbelieved will not be benefited for them, and for them will not be granted respite’. And in verse 32: 30 Lord says to the Messenger and believers ‘Then you neglect them and you wait; indeed they are also waiting”.
