From both the sprite and mankind.
The evil whispers from sprites and mankind affect those who do not transform their Jinn soulmate, mentioned in verses 43:36-39 and 59:16-17, into a believer through Adhikr. Because of this, one feels fear, doubt, miserliness, lavishness, pride, egoism, vanity, envy, arrogance, showboating, covetousness, guessing, sexual passion toward opposite genders, and similar traits. Satan has also been given the ability to make truth feel like falsehood and falsehood feel like truth. But for the believer who has transformed his Jinn soulmate into a believer through Adhikr—the Confirming Truth—no such evil thoughts or feelings affect him; rather, as explained in verse 86:4, his Jinn soulmate acts as a guard for him.
This Surath also teaches that there are Satans among both Jinn (sprites) and mankind. The Arabic Qur’an–reading Fujjar who do not transform their Jinn soulmate into a believer through Adhikr, and who hide and reject Adhikr, are Satans from mankind. The inspiration from such disbelievers (Kafir) may affect everyone. Therefore, the Messenger and believers are commanded to seek refuge from the evils of such human Satans through this Surah with Allah, who is the Almighty, Dictator, Sovereign, Tyrant, Deity, and Omnipotent.
Since today Adhikr—which explains each and everything as told in verse 16:89, and which is the Best Interpretation of the Lord’s Book as told in verses 25:33-34—is codified through the Three-Time Knower mentioned in verse 25:59, whoever holds fast to It holds fast to Lord Allah and is guided to the Straight Path, as told in verses 2:256; 3:101; 4:174-175; and 5:48. See explanation 6:112; 23:97-98; 41:25-29; and 109:6.
