(Al-Ghashiya) 88 : 23
إِلَّا مَنْ تَوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَ
Except the one who turned back and hid It.
“Except the one who turned back and hid It” means: those who heard Adhikr but turned away from It, following the ways of disbelievers while concealing It. They are not to be compelled either; rather, according to verses 9: 73; 25: 52; and 66: 9, the believer is commanded to do Jihad against them with Adhikr, saying, as in verse 39: 8: “Enjoy your disbelief here for a while; indeed, your return is to the Fire,” and using words that penetrate their inner hearts, as explained in verses 3: 119 and 4: 63. See explanation 14: 30; 26: 200; and 48: 29.
