ADHIKR

Since there is no numbering of days in Paradise or Hell, it is told in this verse that they will abide in Hell for an endless age. The disbelievers who will be driven to Hell after trial may be lifted to Paradise by the intercession of the forerunners to Paradise after completing their fixed punishment period, as explained in verse 34: 23; whereas the hypocrites—who will go to Hell even without trial, since they are enemies of Allah, Messengers, and believers—will never be lifted to Paradise, as explained in verses 4: 145 and 72: 23.
