And If We had wished, We would have raised him with that, but he clung into the earth and followed his whim, then his similitude is that of a dog; if you disturb it, it lolls out its tongue, or if you leave it free, it still lolls out its tongue. That is the similitude of the people who reject Our verses, then you tell them such parables one by one so that they may meditate and reflect It.
Adhikr is the unbreakable Rope extended from Paradise to earth. So whomever holdfasts It, he can return to Paradise as explained in verses 2: 255-256. But the aimless hypocrites who are having a life without the soul are giving preference to the bodily and worldly life. Their speech seems attractive to the common people. But they are like the logs leaned on the wall and are the fuel of Hell as explained in verses 2: 24 and 3: 21-22. Through this verse, Lord says that the similitude of the Arabic Quran reading hypocrite is that of a dog which will not change its attitude whether disturbed or not.
The Messenger and the believers are commanded to say the mankind that the similitude of the hypocrites and their blind followers is that of a dog as mentioned in this verse. They are compared to burden-carrying donkeys in verse 62: 5. And as explained in verse 5: 50 they will be resurrected in Hell as pigs, bandicoots, monkeys, etc. For these true disbelievers as explained in verses 4: 150- 151, the Impartial Lord has kept prepared shackles, chains, and blazing Fire as told in verse 76: 4. At the time of each Fujjar's death, Lord will tell him that he was among the disbelievers as told in verse 39: 59. The believer is commanded to do great Jihad against these Fujjar as explained in verse 9: 73. See explanation 4: 63, 82, 91; 7: 40-41, 146-147, and 8: 22.
