(Al-Ahraf) 7 : 163

And you ask them about the town which was in the coastal area of the sea, when they aggressed in the case of Sabbath, when their fishes rushed to them, while the day other than Sabbath they didn't come to them, just like that We were testing them because they were transgressing.

By pointing out the denial and arrogance of the fore-fathers of Jews at Medina, this verse commands to ask the Jews at Medina about the consequence of their fore-fathers. As explained in verses 2: 65-66, some Jews who were living in "Aila' seashore, when involved in fishing on Saturday disobeying the command of Allah not to involve in worldly affairs, Allah transformed them in to apes. Just like that when some Jews doubted about the origin of the food they ate which was sent down to Jesus and his disciples from heaven were transformed swine as explained in verse 5: 60. See explanation 5: 97-98; 6: 124; 9: 67-68, and 10: 33.
