And when Moses told his people ‘Oh my people! Why are you harming me while surely you do know that indeed I am the Messenger of Allah in to you? And Allah won’t guide a transgressing people.
Since the people of Moses-Children of Israel-had experienced divine miracles exhibited through Moses, they knew well that Moses was the Messenger from Allah. But as explained in verse 2: 55, they were demanding Moses to see Allah manifestly from this world itself, and as explained in verses 5: 20-25, when they were commanded to enter Palestine which was the promised land to them, they told him that you and your Lord go and do battle, and will be sitting here. This verse teaches that Allah won’t guide such disobedient transgressing people. Since 999 out of every thousand among the people of every Messenger are serving Satan and are following his footsteps, they are the enemies of Allah, Messengers and the believers. As explained in the verse 54: 25, such people told about the Messengers deputed to them as ‘is Adhikr sent down upon him; nay, he is an odd liar’. As explained in verses 9: 67-68, the Hypocritical men and Hypocritical women who are commanding evils and are forbidding good are the transgressors, and to them and the Kuffar, Hellfire is kept prepared. They are telling only lies and are killed by Allah since they have forgotten Adhikr as explained in verses 25: 17-18; and 59: 19. Allah has sealed their hearts since they do not understand the aim of life as explained in the verses 7: 179; and 63: 1-4. In verse 8: 22 if they are mentioned as the worst creatures among the thousand communities of Lord’s creatures, they are mentioned as the worst creatures in the land as explained in the verse 98: 6.
