If you have lost anything from your wives went to the Kuffar, then you give it to those who lost instead of giving to the husband of the believing women, you heed Allah with whom you are believing.
If disbelieving women under the wedlock of believing men are going to the Kuffar and are not giving back the dowry to their believing husbands, then the believing women who were under the wedlock of disbelieving men came to the believers, they need not give back the dowry completely they had received from their disbelieving husbands; instead, they can give from it to the believing men what the disbelieving women didn’t give to the believing men, and the balance, if there is anything, should only need to be given back to the disbelieving men. Today, among the Fujjar who are reading these verses in the Arabic Qur’an, marriage is conducted by giving dowry and ornaments from the wife’s side, which is just opposite to the Command of the Lord’s Book. Among them, divorce also happens without any reasoning, just like changing clothes. Thus, the verses in the Arabic Qur’an are going to argue and witness against them and will be pushing them into Hell, as explained in verse 9: 82. See explanation 39: 47-48; 42: 45; and 57: 22.
