Just like the example of Satan, he told mankind, "You disbelieve"; thus when he disbelieved, he told: I got free from you, indeed I fear Allah, the Lord of the whole worlds.
The mission of the disbeliever Satan, who was expelled from Paradise, is to obstruct mankind from Adhikr—the Straightpath to Paradise. For this purpose, he has been given the ability to mislead 999 out of every 1,000 people from humanity. However, the one-in-a-thousand true believer, by transforming his Jinn soulmate into a believer—as explained in verses 43:36-39—will make his Jinn soulmate his guardian, as mentioned in verse 85:4.
As described in verses 25:27-29, the wrongdoers who fail to do so will wail on the Day of Judgment, biting their hands in regret, saying: “Woe to me! Oh, I wish I had taken the way of life with the Messenger. Oh, woe to me! I wish I had not taken so-and-so as my intimate friend. Surely, he led me astray from Adhikr after it had come to me, and Satan was a great betrayer of mankind." See explanations of 8:48-51, 50:27-30, and 114:5-6.
