(Annajm) 53 : 49
وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ رَبُّ الشِّعْرَىٰ
And indeed, He, He is the Lord of Sirius.
Ancient Egyptians and ignorant Arabs used to serve the Sirius star, which has 23 times the light of the sun. It was done to get free from the distress they were facing. Through this verse, it is taught that Allah is the only Lord of all, including Sirius, sun, moon, and even Satan, and so you have to serve Him alone and shouldn’t serve any other of His creatures. By serving any of the Lord’s creatures, it will become serving Satan, which will cause the loss of the aim of life. See explanation 2: 168-171; 36: 59-62; and 41: 37.
