And indeed, it is He who causes you to laugh and causes you to cry.
Not only to the Messenger, but to everyone, it is Allah who is causing to laugh and causing to cry. That means Allah has taught every soul Adhikr, which gives a chance to everyone to laugh and cry. The one in a thousand believers who utilize Adhikr, even though they may suffer some nuisances here from the hypocrites who hide Adhikr, can rejoice in the eternal Hereafter. Lord Allah has taught through His Messenger that the believers are just like the fish that got out of the water, which will attempt to return to the water at the earliest, and like that, the believers are also living here, seeing the Hereafter, who are ready to return to Paradise at any time. They live here always in grief, seeing the Hereafter from the Lord’s Book, which is revealed in grief. They are in such a condition because they are bothered about the fact that if they don’t fulfill their responsibility, they would be losers in the Hereafter. See explanation 33: 72-73.
Today, since the hypocrites who hide Adhikr and their blind followers who read the Arabic Qur’an and thereby dart away from religion do not understand the aim of life, they prefer this temporary worldly life over the eternal Hereafter. These worst creatures, who are leading a more strayed life than the cattle, are involved in play and laughing. Thus, they are earning a chance for grief in the Hereafter. It is told in verse 69: 50 that for them Adhikr is a cause of sorrow. These transgressing people who are earning Hellfire as a fine for performing prayer, fasting, Hajj, Umra, etc., as explained in verses 25: 65-66, are hastening the destruction of the universe.
