(Qaaf) 50 : 36
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُمْ مِنْ قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُمْ بَطْشًا فَنَقَّبُوا فِي الْبِلَادِ هَلْ مِنْ مَحِيصٍ
And how many generations We have destroyed before them who were stronger than them; then is there anyone to save them who were living in the land as if there is none to question them?
Even though the generations destroyed before were very prowess and strong, they couldn’t escape themselves or were not saved by any others. See explanation 28: 81; 41: 15, 48; and 46: 25-26.
