(Al-Ahqaaf) 46 : 9

You say: I am not the beginner among the Messengers, and I do not know what will be done with you and with me. I am not following except what has been inspired to me, and I am nothing except a manifest warner.

Through this verse, the Messenger is commanded to say to his people at Mecca that he is not a beginner among the Messengers, but the last among the Messengers and Prophets. Therefore, they should not behave as if they do not know about the Messengers deputed before him. The Messenger to his people at Mecca, and the believer today to the Arabic Qur’an-reading Fujjar, have to say that Allah—who is the Three-Time Knower, the Dominant of the heavens and the earth, and the Controller of them—is bringing here and taking back from here both you and me. That is why all of us should be ready to answer before Him for this worldly life in the Hereafter. See explanation 33: 40, 38: 86, and 41: 43.
