And they say: “Are our deities better, or is he?” They do not cite him with you except for dispute; nay, they are a people of antagonists.
When the Messenger Muhammad was familiarizing Jesus to the Meccan pagans by quoting verses of the Lord’s Book, they asked the Messenger: “Is Jesus, a foreigner, better as a deity, or our deities such as Laatha, Uzza, and Manaatha?” They were considering Jesus also a deity; so whenever they mentioned the Messenger Jesus before the Messenger Muhammad, they did so only for dispute and quarrel and to justify their pseudo-deities.
Today, even though the Fujjar are reading verse 32: 4 in the Arabic Quran—which says that mankind has no protector or intercessor besides Allah, the Lord of the universe—they do not familiarize Him to mankind in their hearts’ language. Thus, they have become the worst among a thousand communities of the Lord’s creatures, as explained in verse 8: 22. They are serving and following Satan as explained in verses 25: 17-18 and 36: 59-62.
As explained in verses 3: 21-22, by adopting the names of Prophets and Messengers while living against their teachings, they render all Messengers and Prophets false before the public. They have read verses 9: 28, 95, and 125, which say that the hypocrites and their following Mushriks are filth, and Adhikr does not increase them in anything except filth. See explanation 5: 72; 36: 77; 39: 8 and 45.
