(Zumar) 39 : 21

Don’t you see indeed Allah sends down water from the Heaven, then He penetrates it to the earth and causes it to flow it as water springs, then He causes to produce with it crops of different colors, then they become wither, thus you can see it turning to yellow, then He makes it chaff, indeed in it there is a Remembrance to the one who is endowed with intelligence.

It is the Lord Allah who causes rainfall, and with water, produces different types of crops, and causes them to change to yellow after withering. Just like that, by mingling the sperm of a male and the ovum of a female, Allah causes it to grow up in three layers of darkness in the womb of a female, passing through different phases. Then He causes it to deliver a child as feeble. After birth, he starts to walk, passing through stages such as creeping, moving on the knee, and standing with and without support. Gradually, he becomes an adult and starts procreation. And he becomes old, and his hair becomes gray, and again he turns into the character of a baby, as explained in verse 36: 68. See explanation 18: 45-46; 30: 54; 35: 27-28.
