(Swaad) 38 : 35

He said: My Lord! Forgive me, and You grant me a kingship which will not be given to anyone after me, indeed you are the Supreme grantor!

Just like every believer likes to have righteous children who do righteous deeds satisfied by the Lord, Sulaiman also wished to have a son to become a righteous ruler after him. When Sulaiman realized that his desire wouldn’t be fulfilled through the above incident, he prayed: “My Lord! Grant to me the chance and ability to convey Your Message to the entire mankind”. See explanation 36: 12 and 37: 102-111.
