Indeed if they were told that there is no Deity except Allah, they were priding.
Upon the hypocritical leaders and their blind followers, the Lord’s curse and wrath are afflicted, and for them, Hell is kept prepared as the worst returning place, as mentioned in verses 9: 67-68 and 48: 6. They do not consider Allah as He should be considered and proudly turn away from Adhikr, the Best Interpretation of the Lord’s Book, which submits to Allah as He should be submitted. They recite with their tongues, without involving their souls, verses 114: 1-3, which introduce Allah as “the Lord of mankind, the King of mankind, and the Deity of mankind.” But in their practical lives, they have no such awareness. They are hiding and rejecting Adhikr and consider other people of the Messenger’s community, such as Jains, Buddhists, Hindus, Jews, and Christians, as disbelievers and inmates of Hell. In reality, they are the disbelievers mentioned in verses 4: 150-151, as they do not consider Adhikr, which explains everything as Guidance, Mercy, and Glad Tidings, as mentioned in verse 16: 89.
