(Yaaseen) 36 : 28
وَمَا أَنْزَلْنَا عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ مِنْ جُنْدٍ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَمَا كُنَّا مُنْزِلِينَ

And We have not sent any army from the sky upon that people after him, and indeed We have not become someone send so.

It is told in verses 10:103 and 40:51 that it is the Lord’s duty to save the Messengers and the believers. Since Messengers have been sent with Adhikr—the Safeguard—no Messenger has ever been killed. However, many prophets have been killed. The believer mentioned here was illiterate and was killed due to the lack of Adhikr. By killing the only believer there, it was proven that the people were in a condition to be punished and wiped out.

“We have not become someone send so” in the verse means that the Lord has not sent down any army to destroy those people and that He had not sent such an army before either. Since there is no Messenger to come with Adhikr, no one can harm or kill the believer who utilizes Adhikr, mentioned in verse 41:41 as the Safeguard. See explanation 3:102; 4:93; 5:48.
