(Ahsaab) 33 : 19

They are covetous upon you; when the fear comes, you can see them staring into you, their eyes rolling just like one covered with death; when the danger is passed, they will come to you with sharp tongues covetous on good, such have not believed, so Allah has made their deeds futile, and that is very easy for Allah.

It is told in both verses 59: 9 and 64: 15 that whoever is abstained from the covetous of soul, such are the only prosperous. Hypocrites show jealousy to be with the believers and for spending money in the path of Lord Allah. It is told in verse 63: 7 that hypocrites are saying: You don’t spend anything to the believers until they depart from the Messenger. If the hypocrites were called to any venture having risk, they used to stare at believers rolling their eyes just like they were shadowed by death. And if the risk was overcome by believers with the help of the Lord, they were hurrying to Messenger attracted by the booty of battle speaking to Messenger with their sharp tongues just like the leaves of scissors are moved. See explanation 4: 71-73; 9: 58-59; 47: 1, 8-9.
