(Ali-Imran) 3 : 172

Those who responded to Lord Allah and Messenger even after affecting the wound, for those who are living seeing Allah and heed Him will have the great reward.

When Messenger and followers were returning after the Battle of Uhud, Abu Sufyaan asked the followers: “Is there Muhammad among you? Is there Aboobaker? Is there Umar?” By obeying the instruction of Messenger none of the believers answered. But when he asked ‘Is there Umar’ for the third time, Umar replied: “Yes, everyone is here”. They left saying that we shall meet again at Badr in the next year. Then Messenger told some companions to follow them. Thus, some followed them for a distance. About them is mentioned in verse as: “Those who responded to Lord and Messenger even after affecting the wound”.

Today, since Adhikr is codified as the Best Interpretation of Lord’s Book, to live by seeing Lord means to live by testifying Adhikr.
