(Annoor) 24 : 22

And let not those who are endued with grace and wealth swear not to give their relatives, the needy, and the emigrants into the cause of the Lord Allah, and let them pardon and overlook; aren’t you wish that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is the Forgiving, Merciful.

Some of the followers of Messenger decided not to help the needy emigrants who indulged in spreading the gossip about Ayisha and Safwan. So Impartial Lord revealed this verse stating that the believer shouldn’t keep that mentality. It is told in verses 76: 8-10: “The virtuous people feed the food despite their need for it to the poor, orphans and captives. They will have the mentality: ‘Indeed we are feeding you seeking the Lord Allah’s presence only; we are not intending rewards or any thanks from you. Verily we fear a gloomy dismal Day from our Lord’.” The believer who testifies Adhikr is the vicegerent of the Impartial Lord. So he will judge his individual, family, and social life with Adhikr as explained in verses 5: 44, 45, and 47. Lord has taught through Messenger: “He is not a believer who fills his belly while his neighbor is starving. The one who shows mercy to those upon the earth, the One into the heaven will show His Mercy upon him”. See explanation 2: 177 and 4: 135.
