(Al-Baqara) 2 : 184

On the fixed number of days, then any of you is ill or on a journey, should make up the number on other days. Upon those who are capable of fasting a ransom by feeding a needy; then if anyone gives voluntarily more, then it is better for him, and it is better for you to fast if you are having the Knowledge.

Today, since there is no group of believers anywhere in the world, fasting is not advised. Nobody can witness Messenger’s lifestyle among mankind, so the odd believer who testifies Adhikr should follow the prayer and lifestyle which benefits the thousand communities of Lord’s creatures as explained in verses 7: 205-206. See explanation 1: 5-6; 2: 25, 43, and 3: 136.
