When they are told: “You believe just as other mankind have believed,” they reply: “Should we believe just as the foolish people have believed?” Surely they are the fools, though they are not knowing it!
Mankind created in Paradise is deputed on the earth for undergoing trial. Generally, hypocrites are given more livelihoods than believers. While the believers give preference to the soul and the Hereafter, the hypocrites prefer worldly and bodily life. Therefore, the hypocrites ridicule the believers as ‘fools who don’t know how to enjoy life’. Hypocrites are those who perverted the Mercy Adhikr of Lord Allah into disbelief and made permissible the Hell which is House of worthless for their followers as told in verses 14: 28-29. And as told in verse 14: 30, the believer is commanded to say to such people: “You enjoy here a little; indeed, your return is into the Fire”. See explanation 3: 196.
