(Maryam) 19 : 6
يَرِثُنِي وَيَرِثُ مِنْ آلِ يَعْقُوبَ ۖ وَاجْعَلْهُ رَبِّ رَضِيًّا
“Who will inherit me and inherit from the family of Ya’qoob; and you make him pleasing to You my Lord".
Prophet Zakariya who was the caretaker of Maryam (mother of Jesus) saw Lord supplying food to her without cause and reasons. By witnessing these supernatural facts, he wished for a believer offspring and prayed to Lord as told in these verses. See explanation 3: 37 and 14: 39.
