(Hood) 11 : 88

He said: "Oh my people! Have you considered that I am upon a Clear Evidence from my Lord and He has provided me with a Good Provision from Him? And I don’t intend to do what I have forbidden to you; I only intend to reform you as much as I can, and success in my task is not except with Lord Allah, I have entrusted upon Him, and I turn into Him.

“I am upon a Clear Evidence” means that I have been taught Adhikr from Paradise, just as each soul has been taught Adhikr from Paradise itself, as explained in verses 7:172-173. “He has provided me with a Good Provision from Him” refers to Adhikr—the Food, Cloth, and Sight of the human soul, as explained in verse 7:26. Those who testify to Adhikr as the Balance and Criterion will choose only wholesome and permissible provisions in their lives. Thus, they use Adhikr as a safeguard against all calamities, disasters, diseases, and Hellfire. By addressing all Messengers, the Lord says: “You eat wholesome things and do righteous deeds; indeed, I am Knower of anything you are doing. And indeed, this community of yours is a single community, and I am your Lord, so all of you heed Me,” as explained in verse 2:172. See explanation 2:26-27; 10:59; 11:17; and 49:13.
