Then the chiefs among those who disbelieved from his people said: "We don't see you except as a man like ourselves, and we don't see you followed except by those who are the lowest of us and without having mature thought, and we don't see you in any merit upon us, but we guess that you are among the liars".
The 999 out of each 1000 are disbelievers who ridicule the Messengers. Only the 1 in 1000 believer who testifies to Adhikr will approve the Messengers. The people of Messenger Salih were asking: “Is Adhikr revealed upon him among us; nay, he is an odd liar,” as told in verse 54:25.
Today, the Arabic Quran-reading Fujjar Mujirims are mocking and ridiculing the believer who follows Adhikr, as told in verse 83:29. But in the Hereafter, the believer will be mocking the Kuffar, as explained in verse 2:212. The hypocritical transgressors have made their food ‘rejecting Adhikr’ and will obstruct their disbelieving followers from hearing Adhikr, as told in verses 41:26-29. It is told in verse 63:7: "Hypocritical transgressors always say 'not to spend in charity for believers until they disperse from Adhikr’; the treasures of heaven and earth belong to Allah; indeed, the hypocrites do not have the aim of life."
As told in verses 62:2-3, Messenger Muhammad and Adhikr are not only meant for illiterate Arabs but also for the illiterates from mankind until Doomsday. Adhikr—the Wise Reminder—will be grasped more by those who don't know how to read and write Arabic than by those who are proud as scholars of Arabic.
The odd-believer who holds Adhikr is the proud servant of the Lord, as explained in verse 3:79. See explanation 4:82; 6:53, and 15:88.
