And We had certainly given Moses the Book, then differences aroused in It; and if not a word from your Lord had preceded, it would have been judged between them; and indeed, they are in never-ending doubt about It.
Verses 32:23-24 state: "And surely We had given Moses the Book, so do not be in doubt about receiving the same, and We made It a Guidance to the Children of Israel. And We made from them leaders who guided with Our Command when they were patient and had confirmed belief in Our verses." The phrase "And if not a word from your Lord had preceded" refers to the fixed time mentioned in verse 11:104. This verse reassures the Messenger and the believers regarding the disbelievers who hide and reject Adhikr.
As explained in verses 6:115-116, out of every 1000 people from the Messenger's community, 999 follow conjectures by rejecting Adhikr. Therefore, the Messenger and the believers should not obey them under any circumstances. The Arabic Quran-reading Fujjar ridicule the Messenger and believers, as described in verses 54:25 and 83:29, saying, "Is Adhikr sent to him among us? Nay, he is an odd liar."
It is reiterated in verses 2:147; 3:60; and 11:17 that Adhikr—the Confirmed Truth—is from your Lord, so you should not doubt anything. The Arabic Quran-reading Fujjar, by hiding and rejecting Adhikr, remain in never-ending doubt, as explained in verse 11:62. Verse 42:14 concludes with: "And indeed, those who inherited the Books are in never-ending doubt about It." See explanation 2:213; 4:163; and 11:27.
